Five Ways To Make A Second Income
Many of us are feeling the crunch that is a result of outlandish gasoline prices and the failing economy, and because of this we are looking for ways to make a second income. For me, one job just doesn't pay enough money to make my mortgage payments, keep up on the utilities, pay for swimming lessons for two children. In fact, because my primary job is 20 miles away, I almost feel the need for a second income to pay for the extra gas it is costing me in order to earn a first income. It's a crazy time we're living in and I am confident that I am not alone in my plight.
* Part Time Retail Store:
Most retail outlets are in need of part time help in the evenings and on the weekends. This is a perfect opportunity for someone with a 9 to 5 job to make a second income. Hiring managers are happy to find applicants who are trying to supplement full time positions. These applicants are typically responsible adults who need the extra money. These employees are more apt to appreciate their job and give it their best effort, and less likely to miss work. Managers are willing to work out a schedule to fit your needs when they feel that they are hiring a reliable employee.
* Pizza Delivery:
The pizza business is primarily a nighttime operation. Delivery people needed from dinnertime until closing time, especially on Friday and Saturday nights. Not only are the hours perfect for a second job, but pizza delivery people generally make pretty good tips.
* Work From Home:
It is not difficult to find a second job that you can work from home. The hard part is finding a legitimate job. Take care to bypass the get-rich-quick and envelope stuffing schemes. I suggest you expand on your current skills and offer them up as an independent contractor. For example, I am an accomplished typist, so I take on transcribing work for some local doctors.
* Sell Your Art:
Everybody has an artistic side. Can you draw? Hire yourself out to draw caricatures at parties. Are you a good cook? Catering might be for you. Can you take pictures or write a story? Give freelancing a try.
* Sell Your Other Art:
Now I'm referring to your unwanted paintings in the attic, that antique vase grandma gave you, but you never really liked it. One person's trash is another person's treasure. Try selling your unwanted items at online auctions or by having a yard sale.
There are so many ways to make a second income that it would be impossible to list them all here. I have shown you the top five ways to make a second income that I have found. I hope this list has been helpful to you. If you are not able to use these ideas, maybe you can expand on them and find a way to make a second income for yourself.
